What we're looking for in our new Speech Pathologist

Reporting to our Speech Team Lead, you are passionate about what you do and you love to share your knowledge with others.

  • You have a minimum of 2 years experience working with children with disability.

  • You have a strong working knowledge of relevant speech and language assessments and interventions for children, AAC devices, and family centred care.

  • You have experience providing clinical supervision to students, graduate therapists, and early career clinicians (for senior speech role).

  • You are excited to work within a multidisciplinary team of Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Behaviour Support Practitioners.

  • You are looking for a full-time role (part-time will be considered)

  • You have sound knowledge of the NDIS, and are passionate about helping your clients and their families reach their goals!

  • 60-minute one-on-one supervision (frequency dependent on your experience) with a Senior Speech Therapist to mentor you as you build your caseload and beyond!

  • Fortnightly Speech Huddle with your peers to discuss latest the Evidence-Based Practice, clinical case studies and PD.

  • Enjoy a hybrid caseload - Work in our fully resourced clinic and work out in the community (e.g. schools, day cares, client homes) .

  • Develop an annual individualised learning plan with your supervisor to help you to achieve your goals!

  • Utilise your annual Educational Expense allowance to build you clinical skills with external Professional Development that aligns with your learning plan (e.g. Hanen Program, Lidcombe Program)

  • Forge your career pathways at Sensia - Work towards becoming a Clinical Mentor, Clinical Educator, Senior Clinician, Team Lead or specialise in an area of practice!

About Us

Founded in 2014 as “The OT Clinic”, we have evolved into a multidisciplinary team of therapists that are truly passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals. We rebranded to ‘Sensia Allied Health’ in 2021.

Our secure clinic is fully resourced, and includes 15 therapy rooms, a full-sized kitchen, reception area, boardroom and FREE underground staff parking. We provide onsite and offsite therapy services predominately to children with disability, helping them to achieve their goals.

We run a feeding clinic and provide speech and language services to children aged 0-18 years.

Our senior therapists are highly experienced clinicians with a wealth of knowledge that they love to share.

About You

As our newest speech pathologist, you will bring a passion for making a difference in the lives of your clients and their families.

You will have:

  • Full Australian Working Rights

  • A Bachelor or Masters degree in Speech Pathology 

  • Membership with Speech Pathology Australia

  • NDIS Workers Check, National Police Check and Working with Children Check

  • Current first aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to undertake)

  • Your own car and current drivers licence

  • Experience working with children with disability

  • Experience providing clinical supervision to less experienced therapists (for Senior Therapist Roles only) 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build rapport with children and their parents

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

  • Excellent organisational & time management skills

  • A passion for working with children and their families

  • A desire to continually learn!
