Thank you for choosing Sensia Allied Health to meet your needs. This pack explains some of the key features of our service and includes important information to support you on your journey with us.

At Sensia, we value experience, passion, and a personal touch. These are qualities our therapists bring to every session. We’re more than just therapists; we’re cheerleaders, mentors, and coaches, celebrating every milestone, big or small, along the way.

Our multidisciplinary approach includes Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy and Positive Behaviour Support Therapy.

We create tailored treatment plans to help you achieve your goals faster.

Every step of progress, every milestone empowers our clients to live better and more productive lives. It brings them closer to their goals, and we can make it possible.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists help you achieve your goals, no matter how big or small.

Our experienced Occupational Therapists work with both children and adults on helping them connect with their communities and fulfil their roles in society.

  • Fine motor skills refer to how small muscles in the hands work to help you do things like buttons, holding a pencil correctly, using a spoon, tying shoelaces and much more.

  • Our Occupational Therapists work on improving independence in all areas of daily living like; toileting, dressing, showering, grooming, eating and routines.

  • Learning to play is a skill and learning to play with those our age is a goal many parents and educators have for their children. We can help develop healthy play patterns and transfer these skills to the classroom or a play date.

  • Handwriting should be pain-free and legible (easy to read). Many factors may impact handwriting from posture, dexterity, fine motor skills, visual perception, muscle tone, eye hand coordination and much more. Our Occupational Therapists use a range of assessments to identify the area’s affecting handwriting and set goals to work on these areas one fun activity at a time.

  • Our senses are what connect us with the outside world. Sometimes, the information coming in from the world is overwhelming (too much to process) or underwhelming (not enough). Occupational Therapists help us find that ‘just right balance’ which is important for behaviour, learning, emotional regulation, attention, and our overall state of calm.

  • Independence comes in many different ways. Sometimes mobility is not only about walking independently, but about reaching a destination in the best way you can. Our Occupational Therapists can prescribe wheelchairs, strollers, alternative seating options, bathing and toileting equipment.

  • Occupational Therapists assess the home environment to make sure it is accessible and safe. Our assessments include detailed drawings and recommendations which are used in our detailed reports. Our reports can be used for submissions to housing agencies, the NDIS or other government bodies.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists help achieve independence with movement. We work on assessing and improving mobility, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, muscle tone and posture. Our Physiotherapists work with both children and adults to help them achieve life changing results.

  • Our Physiotherapists can assess your child and determine if they are reaching their milestones. Our experienced paediatric Physiotherapists will work to make sure your bub is on track with their rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, and walking.

  • Gross motor skills refer to how our large muscle groups work together to help us run, jump, skip, ride a bike and go up and down stairs. These skills are important for play, team sports and everyday mobility.

  • Our Physiotherapists can assess your injuries and get you feeling yourself again with rehabilitation programs in the clinic, at your home or within the community.

Our Physiotherapists also accept injury claims though Workers Compensation or CTP insurance.

  • Falls prevention, improving mobility and body awareness can be worked on with both adults and the elderly.

  • Hydrotherapy works on movement without gravity. Water eliminates the pressure from gravity on muscles and joints and allows magical things to happen to posture and movement.

  • Physiotherapists can assess your equipment needs and prescribe various walking aids including walkers.

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
