Speech Therapy
We help people communicate with others and with the world around them. Communication comes in many forms and is not only spoken words.
We believe that effective communication is a cornerstone of everyday life, whether you are a child learning your first words, a teenager developing social communication skills, or an adult seeking support with speech, language or swallowing. Our experienced team of Speech Pathologists provide personalised, evidence based therapy to support people across the lifespan.
We work with children, adolescents and adults to address a wide range of communication needs, including speech clarity, language development, social communication, stuttering, voice difficulties and swallowing concerns. Therapy is tailored to each individual, with a strong focus on functional outcomes that support participation at home, school, work and in the community.
Our goal is to empower individuals and families with practical strategies and compassionate support, helping every client build confidence and communicate more effectively in their everyday lives.
Our Key Areas of Focus
Our comprehensive approach targets various aspects of speech and language development:
Speech Sounds:
Addressing difficulties in producing clear speech sounds, such as substituting a ‘r’ to a ‘w’ and a ‘th’ to a ‘f’ sound, to improve intelligibility and confidence.
Language Skills:
Enhancing both receptive language (understanding spoken information) and expressive language (articulating thoughts and needs using appropriate vocabulary, grammar and sentence structure), which are crucial for effective communication.
Social Skills:
Promoting positive social interactions, helping children learn to make friends, respond appropriately to social cues, and engage in meaningful relationships.
Voice Disorders:
Addressing issues like hoarseness, establishing healthy vocal habits, and supporting vocal recovery post-surgery.
Stuttering:
Providing strategies to manage stuttering, including techniques to reduce interruptions, blocks or pauses, and repetition in speech.
Feeding and Swallowing:
Providing support for feeding difficulties (e.g. picky/fussy eating, sensory aversions) and swallowing difficulties (e.g. difficulties with chewing, swallowing different textures and support around managing aspiration of food and liquid into lungs). Our therapists also provide support with training and upskilling parents with managing mealtimes.
We also work with Adults
Our adult services focus on assessment and therapy for speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing challenges. We provide personalised therapy and mealtime management plans for individuals with a range of neurological or complex health conditions, including:
Cerebellar atrophy
Ataxia
Parkinson’s disease
Motor neurone disease
Functional neurological disorder (FND)
Multiple sclerosis
Intellectual disability
Therapy aims to improve speech clarity, support effective communication, enhance cognitive communication skills, and promote safe and confident eating and drinking in daily life.

These may include interactive games, structured tasks, and play-based learning, all tailored to your child’s age, interests, and developmental level. Our therapists use evidence-based techniques to help your child build and generalise new skills. We also work closely with you, valuing your insight and input, to ensure that home practice is practical, enjoyable, and easy to integrate into your daily routines.

The frequency of your child's speech pathology sessions will depend on their individual needs and the goals identified during the initial assessment. Some children may only need occasional sessions or support related to specific equipment, while others may benefit from more intensive therapy. The plan is always tailored to what will best support your child’s development in consultation with their parent/carer.
